Show Notes
THE DARKO STORY CONTINUES… BUT SHOULD IT HAVE?
After the mind-bending cult classic Donnie Darko, we return to that strange world with S. Darko, following Donnie's younger sister Samantha as she begins experiencing her own bizarre visions, strange dreams, and increasingly disturbing events.
In this R Rating podcast, we dive into S. Darko, the controversial follow-up to Donnie Darko, and discuss whether this sequel actually adds anything meaningful to the original story—or if some movies are better left alone.
We'll talk about Samantha Darko, the mysterious characters she encounters, the strange sci-fi elements, time travel, visions, symbolism, and the movie's attempts to recreate the weird, unsettling atmosphere that made Donnie Darko such a cult classic.
We'll also compare S. Darko directly to the original, discuss its story and characters, and tackle the biggest question of all:
Is S. Darko a worthy continuation of the Darko universe… or a sequel nobody asked for?
